The mission of the International Athletic Congress is (a) to promote good sportsmanship and fair play among athletes across the world (b) to support sports and sporting activities (c) recognize those athletes that have shown outstanding performance and/or progression within their respected sports (d) to work with International Federations (IF) and National Governing Bodies (NGB) to develop and/or improve sports participation across the world in their respected sports (e) to increase the number of coaches and officials within all sports.

8/28/08 - IAC announces that the website will be undergoing maintenance. During that time some parts of our website will be inaccessible to the public.

8/22/08 - IAC announces the appointment of Isabella Luciano as President & CEO.

8/15/08 - IAC announces the addition of the following sports to it's official recognition list: Surfing, Billiards, Bowling, Golf, Polo, Karate, Rugby, Squash and Underwater Sports.
